Mary the Platypus
One day Mary was lying out on the grey rocks. The water was sparkling.
"I am going for a swim down the creek" said Mary. It was a
nice sunny day. Then she bumped into something.
"What was that", she said. Then it jumped out of the water. It
was Mary's friend Penny.
"Hello Mary. What are you doing today?" asked Penny.
"I am just going for a swim down the creek", said Mary.
"Can I come with you?" said Penny
"Definitely", said Mary. So off they went.
On the way they spotted a frog.
"My name is Ridip", said Ridip. "Where are you two
going?"
"We are going for a swim down the creek", the platypuses said.
"I had better let you go them", said Ridip.
"Bye then" said the platypuses and off they went.
When they got to the end they spotted a castle.
"Let's go there for dinner tonight" they said. So they paddled
out.
When they got home they tried to find Ridip. He wasn't there. They were
frightened that he was dead. Hw wasn't. He was sleeping!

Ben the Platypus
Once there was a platypus
called Ben. One day when Ben went for a swim he came across an under
water cave.
So Ben went inside. There were pointy icicles hanging from the roof.
Then Ben walked a little further. He saw a door so he knocked on it. An
old platypus came out of the little cottage. Ben asked what was further
on in the cave. The old platypus said that if you go a little further
there will be a light, then take the lamp and on the right hand side
there will be a tunnel. Go through it until you come to a rough track.
Go down it, then you will be out of the cave, then you will find your
home. So Ben went. Before long he was safe at his house.

Bill the Platypus
One day Bill was swimming in the Emu
Creek, when he met a friend of his.
"Would you like to stay at my house?" asked Bill.
"OK. but I think it is going to rain" said Louis.
They paddled and paddled until their flippers were tired. They stayed in
a log that night. In the morning Bill went to find breakfast. A snake
followed him. Bill saw the snake. He jumped in a burrow. He did not know
what lived in the burrow. Suddenly, two eyes appeared, a red nose and
four legs. It was a fox. Bill scurried out the end of the burrow. The
fox got the platypus, so that was the end of Bill.

One day there lived an
angry little platypus. He hated everything that he saw.
The next day a girl platypus came along, her name was Benita. She
kissed little John on the bill. He said, "Makes me feel good!"
Then he scurried away.
He made a good home and they lived happily ever after.

The Hungry Platypus
Herbert was an extremely hungry platypus. He went out
of the water to find some dragonflies but there were none because they had
already flown away.
"Oh, drat! There are no dragonflies left!"
suddenly he heard a whirring noise. A juicy plump dragonfly buzzed past
him.
"Herbert you can't catch me because I can fly."
Herbert got annoyed. Herbert went back into the water. By that time he was
starving, so he went and ate some insects.
The next morning he went back to the same spot. The very same dragonfly
came back to tease him. He annoyed him. He went back to his burrow.
The female laid her eggs that night. Two months later they hatched into
baby platypuses. When they were one month old they went out with Herbert
to catch dragonflies. They were named Tom, George and Sam. They all grew
up very fast. They had their babies at the age of one year and they loved
dragonflies too. They always tried to eat them when they could.

The Platypus
A long time ago there was a platypus who's enemy was a
crocodile. He liked to eat meat. One day the platypus went away to a new
place, but the crocodile went too. He followed the platypus to the forest. He
swam to the sea and the crocodile swam too. But the platypus climbed up a tree
and made a trap. The crocodile swam in the middle and down the trap.
"Help. Help!", he yelled. The platypus lived happily ever after.

The Disappearing Platypus
One Monday morning I was walking past the Emu Creek
when I saw a platypus.
"Hello!" I yelled.
Then it disappeared.
"Strange?" I said. The next day I went back down.
"Hello?" It came out from the bushes.
"Nice platypus", I said.
"Hello", it said.
"A TALKING ANIMAL! Cool!"
"I know", it said.

The Hungry Platypus
Herbert was a very lonely platypus and he didn't have very
much food. No-one would help him and all the humans didn't know he lived
there. They used it as a dump yard and every day it got worse.
Herbert went out of the water to find some dragonflies, but there were none
around.
"Oh drat! I don't see any dragonflies."
"What's that? Yes! It's a dragonfly!"
"Nah! You can't catch me!"
"Oh yes I will!"
Gobble.
"Hah! That'll teach that dragonfly!
