What the grade 3's an d 4's have been doing in the last year
On Remembrance day the students walked down to the memorial to remember all of that people that died in war. Some of the people from grade 3/4 played in the super 8s carnival at Victoria Park.
The school went to Sovriegn Hill for book week. The students all did book week activities and also looked around the historical town. At the start of the year, the school participated in swimming lessons at the Skipton pool. We concluded these lessons with our house swimming sports and then the 3-6 went on to the inter-school sports at Lismore. The students throughout the year also did Think Tank. In think tank there are many maths equations and problems to figure out. The whole school went on an excursion to Earth Ed. Earth Ed was all about science and the environment.
Each term, there is a different after school sport program. Some of the sports that we played at after school sports were: cricket, golf, and circus. Throughout the year, we have many student teachers to come and help us learn. Miss L and Miss D have been in the 3/4 room. These teachers were very helpful. The 3-6 students went to Rokewood for winter sports. In the winter sports you could choose out of netball, football or tee ball.
The grade 3 and 4 students have also been doing SMART goals. Each letter has a meaning. The meanings are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely. They are the meanings of the word SMART. You set your goals by using these five steps. They have also done a few BTN reports throughout the year. A BTN reports is where you watch a video clip on something that has been on the news and then write a information report about the clip that you have just watched.
They have also been doing some geography. They have been doing maps around the world. It is where you get given a map of a place in the world and then you have to write all the main places on the map.
The students were lucky enough to have some student teachers come in and help teach. They had Miss Listen and Miss Dunmil. They were a huge help for the class.
The grade three and four students this year are a real charm and have worked their hardest all year.
Good Job!!!
Grade 3-4 have been working on our assignment; right now we are working on our information reports, but some people are up to their posters. We are all going well so far and working hard.
We would like to welcome Miss D to our class room and we hope she likes staying with us and working with us. She is very interested in the subject of health.
We have also started our ‘On Demand’ tests. We have done our comprehension and reading tests.
We have received a letter from a Kmart competition we did a little while ago and all people who sent their drawings or posters should know that they are being displayed at the Wendouree`s Kmart.

Last week we have been busy in maths with tests in shape. This week both groups are working with number.
In literacy all the groups are having a chance to read a guided reading book without the teacher (this is called reciprocal reading). We still have guided reading with Mrs Britton as well and purple group is reading a pirate book and doing some fun activities to go with the book. Blue group have been reading a book called Drum. Green group have been reading a book called The Dolphin Caller. Also, we have all done spelling, independent task and reader’s theatre (plays).
In writing we have to do an information text for our assignment on our Bimbi Park camp.
In art we have made pavers and ephemeral (not lasting long) nature art with Georgie Green.
