Grade 5/6

Grade 5/6 unit Report

On Monday we welcomed Mr. Horbury to our class. He is a third year B.ED student from Ballarat University and will be with us for three weeks.

At the moment we are all very busy with our Tasmania assignment. We still have two and a half weeks to go. Technology is still continuing with some wonderful billy carts and a variety of creations nearing completion.

On Monday morning we participated in a cricket clinic with Shaun from Cricket Victoria to help prepare us for the Kangaroo 8s competition in two weeks' time. Daily practice is also being undertaken with children displaying a very keen approach to the game.

GRADE 5/6 REPORT

After our wonderful week in Tasmania it is back to reality with all the normal school activities. We are already into our second week of our major assignment task, the Tasmania Tour.  Much discussion has been undertaken around careful budgeting of time for this task and some excellent progress has been seen to date.  We are revising many number activities in Mathematics, continuing our Technology constructions and reading newspaper articles.

Last Friday Liam(hurdles) and Abraham(shot put)b competed in the Grampians Region Athletics Championships in Ballarat and both performed extremely well at this second highest level in the state. Well done to the boys. We are also well into cricket practice preparing for the Super 8s competition on November 17th
