Skipton Primary operates an extensive camping program throughout the school years.
The Foundation grade and Grade 1 have a late stay at school where children stay back and enjoy dinner and a movie.
Grade 2 have a sleep over at Mooramong Homestead, which is a National Trust property formerly belonging to Scobie and Claire Mackinnon.
Grades 3 and 4 go to Melbourne for three days to experience all that our state capital has to offer and then adventure camping on the other year.
Grades 5 and 6 have a two-year rotation where one year they go to Canberra and Sydney, and the other Tasmonia. Funding for this experience has been provided by The Mackinnon Trust, a bequest set up by Scobie and Claire Mackinnon specifically to support this ventures such as this.
