Principal's Welcome

Picture
I am privileged to write to you as the Principal and welcome you to the Skipton Primary School website.  Here at Skipton, we are driven by our vision to educate successful leaders, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens. This school is a place for every child to develop their individual talents and interests under the watchful guidance of engaged teachers.  The school is striving to build a community of people who believe they can make a positive difference.

Skipton Primary is a school of 75 enrolments, servicing the township of Skipton and the surrounding farming community.  The school comprises of a Prep/1 group, a mixed Grade 2/3 class, a Grade 4 cohort and a Grade 5/6 class.  Students take part in a rigorous curriculum in the foundational areas of reading, writing and numeracy.  This is complimented by a wide range of curriculum enrichment programs, including Arts, Auslan, Digital Technologies, Library, Science & Sustainability.

The school community is highly engaged at Skipton Primary School.  School Council operates sub-committees in the areas of Environment, Policies, Finance, the Bus and Teaching & Learning.  An active Parents Club support a number of activities throughout the school year.

I am grateful to all community members who have welcomed me into this tight-knit school community.  I look forward to working with the community, the staff and the students over the coming years to continue to embed the great work already being done here.  I hope to add value where I can and support the community to build a school learning program that all can be proud of.

I am always available to meet with families of current and prospective students and all community members. Nicholas.keating@education.vic.gov.au  is the best way to contact me.
